Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of FC Accounting, a bookkeeping platform operated by Fried Code. By creating an account or using any part of the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use FC Accounting.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to bind the business you are registering on behalf of. By accepting these Terms, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Account Registration
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when creating your account. You must keep your login credentials confidential and notify us immediately at accounting@friedcode.au if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Each account is for a single business entity. You may not share, resell, or sublicense access to FC Accounting to any third party.
3. Subscription Plans and Billing
FC Accounting offers a free Starter plan and a paid Professional plan. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually, in advance. Prices are displayed on our pricing page and may be updated with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you downgrade your plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle and you retain access to your current plan features until then.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use FC Accounting to:
- Record or facilitate any unlawful activity, including fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content that disrupts the platform or its users.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, systems, or data.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the platform.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) against the platform without prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, without prior notice where necessary to protect the platform or other users.
5. Your Data
You retain ownership of all business data you enter into FC Accounting — invoices, client records, expense entries, and financial information. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that data solely to provide the service to you.
We do not sell your business data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.
6. Intellectual Property
All software, designs, logos, and content that make up the FC Accounting platform are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any intellectual property rights in the platform beyond the right to use it as described here.
7. Service Availability
We aim to keep FC Accounting available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance, apply updates, or suspend access temporarily to protect the integrity of the platform. We will give reasonable advance notice of planned downtime where possible.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FC Accounting and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the platform, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at accounting@friedcode.au. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days, during which you may request a copy of your data, after which it is permanently deleted. We may terminate your account for material breach of these Terms after giving you reasonable notice, except where immediate action is necessary to prevent harm.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Maldives.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of FC Accounting after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
